Hi! I’m Matthijs. I’m a Product Management Consultant and Trainer based in the Netherlands.
What I do
My mission is to build organisations that learn fast, act with purpose, and create products and services that matter.
Building successful products and services is hard. I’ve worked as a Product Owner and Product Manager across small, mid-sized, and large organisations, accountable for products at every stage of their lifecycle. Years of consulting, coaching, and designing learning programmes for product professionals have built on that.
More concretely, I support organisations in improving their product mindset by:

What led me here
After writing my PhD thesis on modelling risks, I explored how different perspectives shape risk management, climate policy, and smart city development. Publications I (co-)authored during this time can be found here.
My research taught me how the making and using of technologies interact with organisational and social contexts. Without an understanding of such interactions, the benefits of technological innovation are compromised, leading to waste, missed opportunities, and risk exposure.
That insight led me to shift from analysis to action. Today, I help organisations design and deliver products and services that create meaningful outcomes by working at the intersection of Product Management, Scrum, and Design Thinking.
